Over 200.000 Nissan pickups have been recalled due to the risk of vehicles rolling away while in park

Nissan is recalling over 200.000 new-model pickup trucks due to the possibility of the vehicles rolling away while in park.

Nissan Frontiers and Titans from 2020 to 2023 are affected, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a September 7 recall report.

The transmission parking pawl, which prevents vehicles from moving, may fail to engage when the vehicle is put in park, resulting in a vehicle rollaway, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The agency estimates that only 1% of the 203,223 vehicles potentially involved in the recall have the defect.

In the meantime, owners should use their parking brake when parking.

The agency expects notification letters to be mailed on November 1.
