With crime in many major cities around the world continuing to rise, it’s no surprise that the list of the most violent cities in 2022 has been released.

Six of the ten most violent cities in the world, according to a report by the Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice, are in Latin America, with Tijuana, Mexico topping the list.

Honduras, Venezuela, and Colombia are other countries with high levels of crime. The remaining top cities are located in North America and Europe.

Since its inception in 2008, the list of the world’s most violent cities has sparked debate. However, according to a study published earlier this year, the list is still correct.

Venezuela, Ciudad Bolivar

Ciudad Bolivar is the world’s most violent city. According to the 2018 Global Peace Index, Ciudad Bolivar is the world’s most violent city.

Based on factors such as homicide rates, military spending, and terrorist attacks, the index determines how peaceful a country is.

Ciudad Bolivar has the highest homicide rate in Venezuela, at 69 per 100,000 people, more than three times that of any other city.

Brazil, Fortaleza

Murder rate: 69 per 100,000 people

According to the Global Peace Index, Fortaleza is the most violent city in Brazil. According to the study, Fortaleza had an average of 102 murders per 100,000 inhabitants in 2014, which was more than twice the rate of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the report, there were an average of 162 robberies per 100,000 people and 105 assaults per 100,000 people.

In comparison, Sao Paulo had an average of 34 murders per 100,000 people, 54 robberies per 100,000 people, and 97 assaults per 100,000 people.

Brazil has the highest rate of violent crime in the world, making it the most violent country in the world. So Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Belo Horizonte are the most violent cities in Brazil.

São Paulo had the world’s highest homicide rate in 2016, with 144 murders per 100,000 residents. With 131 murders per 100,000 residents, Rio de Janeiro had the second-highest homicide rate.

With 101 murders per 100,000 residents, Salvador had the third-highest homicide rate. With 89 murders per 100,000 residents, Belo Horizonte had the fourth-highest homicide rate.

Irapuato, Mexico is regarded as the world’s most violent city. In 2016, the city’s homicide rate was estimated to be 106 per 100,000 people.

These figures place Irapuato among the most dangerous cities in terms of overall crime.
